What is a Frigate Junkie?

A little brainstorming session in a random fashion of traits, habits and stereotypes that I think most frigate pilots will be able to relate to. Perhaps you find yourself nodding your head in agreement or disagreeing slightly. Maybe I have missed some really obvious ones or you have something else that you'd consider worthy of making the list. It would be great to hear other people's thoughts on their profession or maybe even from people who don't do frigates.

A frigate junkie is a fanatic of the frigate hull, and has little or no interest in flying anything bigger.

A frigate junkie flies frigates all day every day.

If frigate junkies somehow find themselves upshipping they feel slightly cumbersome and lost in these slow and strange ships and they ache for a chance to return to their frig hull as soon as is possible.

The frigate junkie's game is the frigate. Everything that they do in game revolves around everything frigates.

The frigate junkie owns frigate themed pyjamas.

The frigate junkie has never opened any other ship class in EFT.

If a frigate junkie sees a battleship in system they will check to see that they have enough ammo in their hold. Never would the frigate junkie check assets to see if they have a larger hull close by.

The frigate junkie would rather die gloriously trying to kill a battleship's drones than upship.

The frigate junkie community are staunch defenders of their play style.

No other play style is relevant.

When the frigate junkie hears tales of large fleet battles they will often complain of white noise ringing in their ears.

When frigate junkies have to scroll to read the names on a battle report they instantly feel nauseous.

The frigate junkie remembers the first day they reluctantly tried destroyers.

The frigate junkie secretly hates destroyers.

The frigate junkie experiences the best combat shakes.

Any fight lasting over 60 seconds is classed as a long-winded affair.

The frigate junkie's currency is one unit of FFT1F (fully fitted tech one frigate).

The veteran frigate junkie is running out of frigate based skills to train.

The frigate junkie knows off by heart how many frigates and fittings fit inside a jump freighter.

The frigate junkie thinks cap pilots are extremely strange and alien people.

People who don't 'get' frigate junkies think frigate junkies are extremely strange and alien people.

The frigate junkie has fingers like Chopin.

Frigate junkies have dedicated exercise routines for their fingers.

The frigate junkie knows that Genolutions were the best thing ever invented (after the frigate of course).

The frigate junkie owns rows and rows of fitted frigates and maybe a handful of destroyers, one cruiser and a dusty old battlecruiser.

The frigate junkie pops synth boosters like they are space aspirin.

On their birthday or other special occasion they will pop a standard or a strong.

The frigate junkie sees a gang of frigates inside a plex and looks for where their nearest and tankiest Assault Frigate is parked.

The frigate junkie gets asked a lot of questions.

A popular question is 'how did your frigate kill my cruiser/battlecruiser/battleship'?

His guns didn't hit you!

The frigate junkie likes lists. (I think)

  1. They call super capitals "space coffins".

That's the feeling the frigate junkie gets sitting in a cruiser hull

And then you spend 2 minutes spamming dscan for his backup... And you quickly check how much ammo you had left again...

  7. Figate junkies bring frigates to every corp fleet regardless of doctrine. And the FC doesn't mind because they know YOUR frigate hits above it's weight class.

  8. Guilty.
Also, add: The frigate junkie can name five valid fits for his favorite ship even years after quitting the game! Ah, let's say, four.
