coming soon

... when the Heath is infiltrated by alien warriors sent to conquer the region, some of New Eden's greatest heroes join forces.

While the superheroes individually defeat most of the invaders, they fall prey to a single alien and only by working together are they able to defeat the warrior. Afterwards the heroes decide to found the Justice League of Egbinger.

corp? comic strip? ... watch this space

Justice League of Egbinger is Miura Bull, and ...

BL4CK LANTERN

BL4CK LANTERN is a mystical Brutor warrior with exceptional willpower. He is semi-invulnerable, capable of projecting hard light constructions, flight, and utilizing various other abilities through his POWER CAPSULE which is only limited by imagination and willpower. BL4CK LANTERN has exceptional willpower. Oh yeah, I already told you that.

BL is The Face of the JLE.

Fla5h

Fla5h is an exceptional pilot and an avid superhero. On his superhero bio page he lists the following as his most useful skills.

Super warp speed (AU Multiplier Speed Force) - warping across vast star systems never felt so good.

Self-molecular control - control of kinetic energy at a molecular level allows Fla5h to match the vibrational frequency needed to travel easily into and through solid matter.

Time travel - quite possibly a white lie.

Steal Speed - Perhaps his most versatile power. Because the Speed Force governed all motion, Fla5h could rob objects of their kinetic energy, motion, or momentum (e.g., ships in flight or turning a supervillain's capsule into a frozen statue) and use the energy to accelerate himself even faster. Rumours that this skill is in fact a heavily modified stasis webifier have been yet unfounded.

Infinite Mass Punch - Fla5h, travelling near the speed of light acquired the relativistic mass of such speed to impart blows which could hit with the force of "a white dwarf star," enabling him to knock down such powerful foes as those Annoying Gate Campers with a single punch. Not many people pick on Fla5h in a bar fight.

Universe Travel - A super secret modified jump clone.

Fictional Supervillain

Once a loathed enemy of the JLE and especially to Fla5h. Fictional Supervillain turned good guy and joined the JLE after Fla5h rescued his dog that had fallen into an ice pond whilst planetside in Egbinger.

Fictional Supervillain possesses commensurate powers and abilities so that he can present a daunting challenge to his opponent. Even without actual physical, mystical, superhuman or superalien powers, Fictional Supervillain often possesses a genius intellect that allows him to draft complex schemes or create fantastic devices. Another common trait is possession of considerable resources to help further his aims. Fictional Supervillain shares some typical characteristics with New Eden's dictators, mobsters, and terrorists and openly admits to aspirations of world domination and universal leadership. He lists Sard Caid as his role model.

Quite probably has a cat on his desk.

Experimental Blind Chimp
Quarter human, quarter chimp and half robot. Experimental Blind Chimp was the code name of an advanced Jin-Mei underground scheme to develop an advanced fighting platform to fight the advancing Caldari forces.

Millions of these Chimp-like robots were manufactured at secret bunkers across the Gallente star cluster.

It is not known what became of them.

Rumours abound of one escaped Chimp that broke free from his hardwires. And yes, this is him.

EBC is the chief engineer of the JLE starfleet. He is responsible for all maintenance and repairs stationside. It is not known at the time of writing if EBC has any special powers, although he does eat a vast amount of synthetic bananas.

Justice League of Egbinger ... coming soon to a solar system near you.

Frozen War

... published Sept 19, YC114, in the Metropolis based comm-newspaper Metro Tribune. Contemplating a region living in the shadow of the threat of rumoured all-out warfare in Molden Heath, Miura wrote:

"For forty or fifty moons past, local warlords and others in my council have been warning us that the Heath is in danger of destroying itself. Not with its own weapons and bloodshed, but with the boredom of apparent peacetime and the general quietness of a stable, yet stagnant region. Leaving the weapon-less ants or some other gregarious species of spacefarers to take over. Anyone who has seen the ruined planets of Oddelulf or the carnage of a violent evening of gatecamping on the Aedald gate will find this notion quite unthinkable. Nevertheless, looking at the Heath as a whole, the drift for many winters has been not towards anarchy but towards the re-imposition of a stable local government and trusted democracy. At least that is the view from those residing on the Teonusude side of the Bosena gate.

Some feel that we may be heading for an epoch as horribly stable as the great empires of antiquity that lie South. Much has been discussed, but few people have yet considered its implications—that is, the kind of censored view, the kind of beliefs, and the social structure that would probably prevail in a region which was at once unconquerable.

This is not what we want. There will be no peace in Molden Heath. Alien invaders will be butchered, scattered to the four winds ... corpses will be nailed to stargates and democrats will be burned stationside. Those that are already here will find a great machine rising out of the frozen black space. This Winter will be harsh. Blood will flow on the moons of Heild, and beyond.

I predict a long Winter and a permanent state of 'frozen war' within Molden Heath."

... In what appears to be a hostile act of aggression towards the general community of Molden Heath and its neighbours, it is not clear what if any reaction the flamboyant leader will be expecting from this article. These words are likely to be slammed by the general population. And yet, these words will be seen as a rallying call to those who seek their fame and fortune on the other side of the law.

Interesting times lie ahead for the residents of Molden Heath.

The Art of War

... or a short study on how the paintbrush is mightier than the sword.

'The Taking of Miura' by Caravaggio

The inaugural R1FTA and R1DER Art Exhibition is officially declared open. Those mighty warriors of space, the chosen few, what could spawn from the minds of the murderous? A creative waterfall of fine art is the answer. A deeply moving journey awaits you.

The theme for the first exhibit was portraits. Most pilots chose to offer themselves up in the form of a bunch of exquisite self-portraits, although some did opt to paint their fellow mates. The resultant artwork was nothing short of spectacular.

My own offering was a self-portrait. I took inspiration from Piero della Francesca's 1463 piece Resurrection 'as a sleeping soldier'. Although after working on the beautiful outline of a sleeping Miura Bull I deemed it worthy of the latter addition of my trademark black shades, thus rendering the sleeping element as somewhat redundant. However I felt strongly that the black shades were indeed needed and I felt justified that this added a sense of definition to the final piece.

The next offering in the exhibition is a quite wonderful piece by the renowned Caldari state Civire artist Duke Thunderhorse. His work on Judge Sarn is in a style of realism that only The Duke is capable of. A work of pure genius that tickles the senses and exposes the life and crimes of the subject piece.

Next up.

A sublime self-portrait by the masterful Joe Struck. Joe acknowledges his admiration for other great artists and he admits to leaning heavily on the works of van Gogh for this piece. A beautiful self-portrait.

For our next piece in the exhibit we return to the prolific works of Duke Thunderhorse and his portrait of the murderous fiend Saftsuze. This particular work of art differs greatly from Duke's original offering on Judge Sarn, and showcases Duke's excellent skill in the genre of Surrealism.

A new artist strides into the halls of the great with this next piece. A self-portrait by Tomba. Tomba leans heavily on the style of Frida Kahlo's, Self-Portrait, 1940. The use of the Rifter as a prop adding an exciting touch.

Our next offering takes us rolling headlong into the works of Planetary Genocide who borrows heavily from the great Leonardo da Vinci, a style that PG pulls off with magnificent aplomb.

Nogusha is the artist who is next up. Nogusha's striking self-portrait is a wonderful attempt at fusing the styles of many of the greatest.

Another by Duke Thunderhorse now. The sophisticated Lhorenzho and Overnauta appear in this piece that borrows from the great Michelangelo in style. Quite remarkable.

Arianne Stone is next with her delightful self-portrait that borders on the edge of Modernism and grabs the viewer with a quirky style and attention to detail.

Arianne Stone

As a bit of background to this portrait, Arianne started life well. She was from a proud, noble, not to forget rich Caldari dynasty. She ran the family business ruthlessly until one day Concord came knocking....Arianne was accused of murder, the CEO of a rival corporation was dead, but with no way to prove her innocence she ran...vowing vengeance on the whole universe for running her out of her life of luxury. This picture was taken the morning after she joined a crew of like minded rebels and their welcome party. You can see the stunned look in her eyes as she realizes what kind of people she has allied with (or she might still be a little high).

Aliaksandre's deep and moody piece is next up with this excellent self-portrait that edges on 'a young Rembrandt', c. 1628. Exquisitely done.

Brink Albosa's self-portrait is a wonderful addition to the exhibit. Brink is a keen fan of Expressionism, a style which echoes throughout his self-portrait.

R1FTA pin-up girl Kooba Kaundur's self-portrait paints a striking image of the blood and thunder lifestyle of a R1FTA beauty queen with this sensational offering to the exhibit.

Our final piece in the exhibition is an outstanding work of art by Peri Simone. Peri is one of the most famous and most prolific of self-portraitists, who has painted himself no fewer than thirty-seven times between YC 112 and YC 114. In all of these self-portraits one is struck that the gaze of the painter is seldom directed at us; even when it is a fixed gaze, he seems to look elsewhere. These paintings vary in intensity and colour and some portray the artist with bandages; representing the episode in which he severed one of his ears and lost an eye in an unfortunate smartbombing accident.

The exhibition is running during the month of September in the Pator Tech School station, level 37 in Heild of the Molden Heath region. Be sure to pay it a visit.

I hope you enjoyed these works of fine art. We are particularly interested in critique views on the pieces and the artist's work and style. If you feel you have a burning desire to discuss these fabulous pieces or indeed wish to commission a piece for yourself, please leave a comment in the box below.
