The Best Made Plans

It sure is easy losing time when high on your favourite narcotics. My vacation was meant to be an educational one, a plan was hatched to study hard for the core gunnery skills that my Rifter piloting was lacking. I suppose my choice of venue during my stay was quite possibly a bad one given my history with over-exuberance and the hard stuff.

The last month and a bit had flown by but now it was killing time. I felt I now had the skills to perform the dirty deeds in the space lanes and asteroid belts of New Eden, the chance to make a name for myself as an opportunist in this cut-throat world was now within my grasp.

I undocked from the floating narcotics centre and made my way into low-sec.

Murciélago

One Rifter to rule them all, One Rifter to find them,
One Rifter to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

My first Rifter is still in one piece, albeit patched up and bruised after some pretty epic swordplay and entertainment.

To date I have clocked up 12 kills to 0 losses in my first Rifter. Details can be found here >>>.
(edit - killboard expired)

My favourite kill has to be the Taranis kill, a heart pumping affair in which I fought bravely and with the spirit of the Bull. Murciélago is the name of my Rifter, the Taranis just did not have the character to fend off the power of Murciélago.

I would like to tell you more about the naming of my Rifter.

Murciélago was a Navarra fighting bull known for having survived 28 sword strokes in an October 5, 1879 fight against Rafael "El Lagartijo" Molina Sanchez, at the Coso de los califas bullring in Córdoba, Spain.

Murciélago fought with such passion and spirit that the crowd called for his life to be spared, an honor which the matador bestowed. The bull, which came from the farm of Joaquin del Val di Navarra, was later presented as a gift to Don Antonio Miura. Together with his brother, Don Eduardo Miura, they brought Murciélago into the Miura line by siring him with 70 cows. Bulls from the Miura ranch, located near Seville, Spain, are known for being large and ferocious.

I do hope that I can keep this run of form going with Murciélago, I hope for more kills and adventure over the coming weeks and months. I would also like to thank my good friend Romeo Blakstorm for showing me guidance on the way.

Thanking you reader.

Introduction and Military School

First, let me drop a brief explanation to my name, Miura Bull.

A Miura bull is a Spanish fighting bull bred from the lineage of the Miura Cattle Ranch (Spanish: Ganadería Miura), located in the province of Seville, Spain. The ranch originally belonged to Don Eduardo Miura Fernández, and is known for producing large and difficult fighting bulls.

As I sit in the Republic Military School upgrading my learning skills ready for the onslaught of Advanced Rifter Combat training, I read about why my parents named me. I am intrigued 100%, the fighting bulls from a long lost time, brutish, muscular and of incredible strength and courage. This is what I will take with me into combat.

I read on some more from the holographic tablet on the table in front of me, my head itches with a warm glow from the data being entered into my chipsets . . . .

There are certain strains of bull with a marked ability to learn from what goes on in the arena ... faster than the actual fight progresses which makes it more difficult from one minute to the next to control them ... these bulls are raised by Don Eduardo Miura's sons from old fighting stock...

My journey is about to begin, guides have been read and future plans laid. Miura Bull will be a name synonymous with Rifter combat. I promise you this, without being cocky. Miura Bull will strive to master the Rifter and bring pain on those who tangle with him.

Mess with the bull, you get the horns.

These few lines from the tablet grab my attention like none other . . .

Bulls from the Miura lineage have a reputation for being large, fierce, and cunning. It is said to be especially dangerous for a matador to turn his back on a Miura. Miura bulls have been referred to as individualists, each bull seemingly possessing a strong personal character.

By now I am tired and decide to head off up to my room. I don't know for sure how long I will decide to stay affiliated with the Republic Military School. As a solo pilot it would be a perfect backdrop for my future endeavours but the path ahead will be long and winding.

I hope to have you along for the ride.
